Holiday Inn Glenmarie Kuala Lumpur. Firstly, it is very misleading to claim that the hotel is in Kuala Lumpur. It is in Selangor. It cost us 254.60 Ringits in total in taxi fares and train fares to reach Kuala Lumpur Sentral. In addition to this, the normal taxi fare should be 10 Ringits. However, the hotel imposes a 5 Ringit tax on the taxis just for the privilege of them staying near the hotel. A unacceptable racket! There is also no bus service, and no tour companies will collect from the hotel. Secondly, the hotel was undergoing renovation. Thirdly, the original room that we were allocated was room 520. This room was appalling. I suffer from Asthma and my wife has sinus problems and neither of us could breathe in this room as there was no air and the window would not open. We requested a change of room. We were allocated room 423. This room was only a small improvement in that we could at least open the window to let the air in during the daytime. However, there is no way that this room could be described as a Deluxe room. The bed had an old blanket and the sheets and pillows didn't appear to be fresh and they affected my wife's sinus problems. Also, the curtains were dirty, the bathroom towels were not fresh, the shower floor was ceramic, and no bath was provided. Finally, there is absolutely no way that the hotel could be described as 5 star, more like 2-3 with 3 being the absolute maximum. Tony & Jawharah Pickett
