We went with 8-10 other couples to scout out the place for future parties of our central Maine based club of over 600. We usually have 35-50 cpls attend our events. Pete and Larry's there is not the place to be if you enjoy real dancing. They only played modern jump up and down to music, and although no one there was dancing for most of the evening, the DJ refused to play any requests from our group scouts. Said he only played hip hop. I would suggest they find a more flexible dj, one who tried to accomodate the crowd a bit more. Especially if no one is dancing. Most of our group left, to find better dancing elsewhere. We and 2 other couples tuffed it out with the school kids, for a bit longer before retiring to our rooms. Although the Hotel did not honor our pre arrainged group rate, we simply used one of our free room nights from priorty rewards. Oh well, I was told by several good friends that the bar there was a dive, but did not listen. Have only myself to blame. jim
